Raised in North Dakota, Eric Reinertson began his career as a Certified Nurse
Aid. He received his bachelor's in Nursing from the University of Wyoming
in 1984 and subsequently worked as a Registered Nurse until 1986. He
entered Medical School at the University of North Dakota, where he received his
M.D. in 1990. He later moved to St. Louis and completed a residency in
OB/GYN in 1994 at Washington University, Barnes Hospital. He also served
as an Administrative Chief Resident.
Following
his residency, Dr. Reinertson was in practice with a large physician's
group in North Dakota. He was also a Clinical Assistant Professor at the
University of North Dakota, where he participated in teaching medical students
and residents. He became Board-Certified by the American Board of OB/GYN
in 1996 and Re-Certified in 2006. He has served on various committees and
as Chairman of the Department of OB/GYN. Dr. Reinertson belongs to several
professional societies, including the American College of OB/GYN, the American
Medical Association, and the Tazewell County Medical Society, which he is a Past
President. He is currently, President-Elect of the Hospital Medical Staff
at Pekin Hospital and is on the Pekin Community Hospital Board of Trustees.
He joined with Dr. Lesley Brinkman-Mosiman and Certified Nurse Midwives Bonnie
Cox and Nancy Vidic to form the Women's Center for Health in 2002. He is
an accomplished gynecologic surgeon and specializes in minimally invasive
laparoscopic surgery such as outpatient hysterectomy as well as more complex
vaginal surgery.
Dr. Reinertson lives in Pekin with his wife Betty. They have two daughters. He is
actively involved in music and church. He plays in the Praise band at Crosspoint Church in East Peoria. You might also find Dr. Reinertson around the
