A life long interest in health care, at age 14
Kristi Kroenlein began as a candy striper volunteering her time in a pediatric
unit. At age 16 she became certified as a nursing assistant and worked as
such until she graduated from college. She earned a Baccalaureate Degree
in Nursing from the University of Illinois in 1990.
In 2002, Kristi graduated from Southern
Illinois University - Edwardsville with a Master's Degree in Science and a
postgraduate degree as a Family Practice Nurse Practitioner. Kristi is
Board Certified by the American College of Nursing, in her specialty & an active
member of the Illinois Society of Advanced Practice Nursing.
She continues to advancer her knowledge and
skills through professional conferences and workshops. Kristi also serves
as a clinical preceptor for nurse practitioner students who are earning their
Master's Degree and as a guest lecturer at local Universities. She
believes that learning is a life long process and that we can all achieve our
personal and professional goals, no matter what our age.
Kristi's personal interests are flower/water
gardening and restoration of older homes. Kristi, her husband, their
collie and two cats reside in Peoria, in one of the historic homes they have
lovingly restored.
